Tri-California Pro Series

Some random summary statistics for 2006...
* I raced locally 4-5 times depending on how you count the Lake Stevens 70.3 race which "happened to be local." I had 3 1st place finishes and one second place (to Dave Messenheimer) in those races. If I'd been able to fend off the cramps for one more mile and finish strong then I coulda had a 2nd or 3rd at Lake Stevens (behind Luke Bell) to add to that list. Oh well.
* I raced in three ITU Continental Cups and never made it out of the water with the main swim group so I spent a lot of time biking alone or with other "dropped" riders. I routinely finished about 3/4 of the way back amongst those who finished.
* I raced two half Ironmans with somewhat encouraging results. I may add a third to my schedule next year.
* I raced all five Tri-California Series races and accumulated enough points to finish 7th. Those races were probably the high point this year and it was fun to see a lot of the same guys at every race.

Next year I hope to do the whole Tri-Cal series again, plus 3-4 ITU races, a few half-IMs and some local fun. Seafair and Lake Stevens will be big targets in the Seattle area, especially given the larger purse this year at Lake Stevens. The presence of two domestic ITU races the same weekend as Seafair could pull some of my toughest competition away.
