    nothing like a race to pump up your enthusiasm for training. I spent Sunday in Santa Cruz watching Markie V put together a crushing swim+bike and a solid run to finish 2nd overall at the Big Kahuna triathlon.  He went like 4:08 for a half-IM!  We grabbed tacos at an Austinesque taco stand after the race.  I also ran into one of ...

    A little recap of my Austin trip... Wed: travel day Thu: Mark, Brian and I tried to go to Barton Springs but it was closed for cleaning.  Instead we swam at Deep Eddy.  Deep Eddy is freshly-filled with spring water each day and during the slower, non-summer months there isn't any chlorine.  The lap lanes are 33 yards ...
