training... some fatigue setting in...

cascades edge
This morning I raced in a local olympic distance triathlon - Cascades Edge. This was my first triathlon this year that didn't require an airline ticket. It's always fun to race locally with friends and family all around. The weather was cold and

a new PR in the 5k
I ran 5000m on the track tonight and it was a really great experience. My goal was to run steady 77-second laps (16:02.5) and go sub-16 with a bit of a kick. The USAT "B" cut is 16:05, so my real goal was to just be under that time. Uli Steidl

more training
This was another fun-filled week of training. Up next for me race-wise is a 5k on the track this Wednesday (the 13th) at an all-comers meet. I'll be shooting to get under the USAT "B" standard of 16:05. David Cannon (super-fast masters runner)

training update...
the last two weeks have included a lots of travel and some easier days for Race Prep. Mon 21 May: hard bike intervals, I think... 5x10min on the computrainer?? wattage was kind of questionable, so I don't have a reliable report. Plus it is kind of

Alcatraz
I had two races on my schedule this week: the Capital of Texas Triathlon on Monday and the Accenture Escape from Alcatraz today. Unfortunately Cap Tex got rained out but I did get to race today. Alcatraz is an incredible race and I highly recommend that
