baby steps

I got outside and ran on solid ground yesterday for the first time in 7 weeks!  Woohoo!  I walked down the sidewalk to a nearby park (sidewalk = hard surface = bad) and then jogged on the trail there to get to the soccer field.  I ran laps on the padded-but-even astroturf for about 20 minutes at a heart rate of about 130bpm before feeling a bit of soreness in my foot and calling it a day.  It was a fabulous feeling to be out running again.  I hope that I can kep moving forward without re-injuring anything or regressing too badly.

Workout log:
Sun 25 Mar: solo 3+ hour ride... My goal was to go to the Sultan Bakery to get an Apple Cup - a delicious pastry with chunks of apple and cinnamon-sugary goodness.  Its about 30 miles each way from the house.  It was raining out and I couldn't get anyone to ride with me.... but I made it out to near Monroe before finding that Crescent Lake Rd was underwater.  So instead I rode on to Snohomish and got a cinnamon roll and some hot chocolate at the Java Inn.  54 miles roundtrip...  I threw in a 40-minute ez wsim afterwards...

Mon 26 Mar: 30min on the trainer and then the aforementioned RUN!!!  45 minutes of ez/commuter biking on PowerCranks later in the day, just to mix it up a little.
